Type of tour: This tour offers 5 days of jeep adventure in Vakhan valley starting from Dushanbe the capital and 5 days of trekking from Gunt Valley north to 5 days of trek in Bartang valley. The area is stunning and the tour continues north up to Osh city via Kara Kul lake. The tour designed such that in Wakhan you will be acclimatized and it offers intensive trekking over the high ranges of Shugnan and Bartang. Mostly accommodation will be served in ten meeting the full service. It is unique tour because you will be in the middle of Western and Easter Pamirs.
Major Destinations: Dushanbe, Kalaikumb, Khorog, Ishkashim, Langar, Bulun Kul, Yashil Kul, Chapdar, Langar Pass, Zaroj Kul, Bardara, Pasor, Kara Kul, and Osh.
Estimate Duration: Total duration is 20 days, 5 days in jeep, 5 days of trek in Gunt area, 5 days trek in Bartang valley.

Notice: Bartan valley is open only after July to August. These two month is perfect season to conduct this tour.
Day 1 Dushanbe- Kalaikum
Transfer from Dushanbe to Kalaikum through Kulob city in southern Tajikistan. Excellent views on the way. Total distance of ride is 380km, or 8 hours. We will stop for quick photos along the road. Visit of Hulbuk, 10th century Silk Road city. It is rehabilitated quite recently. Breathtaking landscape along the Panj River (Amu Darya or the famous Oxus). Across the river lies Afghanistan. We will see many villages. We will drive along the river and we will have a picnic in the pristine nature along the way. Overnight in Kalaikum, Guesthouse (BLD).
Day 2 Kalaikum - Khorog
Drive to Khorog town along the Panj River. It is a small town founded during the imperial times, and has interesting history being sort of central administrative town of Pamir mountains. After Vanj valley, we will enter into the Pamir region, landscape change from lowland into massive mountains. On the way, you will see many different villages. Views of the valley are amazing. Lunch in a traditional Central Asian Chaikana – teahouse. Overnight in town of Khorog, Traditional Pamir House(BLD).
Day 3 Khorog - Ishkashim
Continue to Ishkashim, green village in southern area of the Pamirs. On the way we will stop for hot springs at Garm-e-Chasma. After, we reach the mouth of the Wakhan valley. This is where the 19th century ‘Great Game’ ended, between the Russian and British empires and China as well. From here, the road continues up along the north side of the river to east. There are amazing views of the Pamirs to the left and the Hindu Kush Mountains Ranges to the right. We will stop along the way for a scenic picnic. Overnight in Ishkashim, Guesthouse (BLD).
Day 4 Ishkashim – Langar
Early in the morning, we drive along the Wakhan Corridor from Ishkashim to Langar exploring the Walkhan valley. We will admire the Khakha Fortress, dating from the third century BC and rising from a platform of natural rock. Just 300m further, there is interesting Ismaili mazar (tomb) of Shah-i-Mardan Hazrati Ali. After, we move to next Zoroastrian "Fortress of Fire Worshippers". Further up the hillside are the hot springs at Bibi Fatima: dense minerals and very silty, the water at Bibi Fatima is crystal clear. There are several places of interest to stop. Above the village of Vrang, on a cliff-side pitted with caves, stands a Buddhist complex dating from 4th-7th centuries. At Yamg, visit the reconstructed home of Sufi mystic Muabara Kadam, who died in 1910. Near his house, there is a stone pillar with a hole, which he used to calculate a solar calendar. In the cool of the morning, we climb up above Langar village to see the petro glyphs. Overnight in Langar, Homestay (BLD).
Day 5 Langar - Bulun kul lake
Today we drive up to high land about 153 km - 6 hrs. Leave from Langar to Bulun kul, a small village by the lake Bulun Kul. Just further you will discover Yashil Kul lake, from Turkic language it means Green lake. We will eat picnic along the way over the Khargush pass (4344m). As we leave the law land, the terrain here is desolate but has a stark beauty to it, Guesthouse (BLD).
Day 6 Bulun kul lake - Yashilkul dam
(Trekking beings) Toda we drive small distance, 30 km - 1 hrs / drivefrom Bulun kul to Yashil kul dam. There is a hotspring along th way where we see the landscapes of the both lakes Yashilkul and Bulunkul are magnificentand. Today we will have a short walk towards Langar pass, Tent (BLD).
Day 7 Langar pass - Kyrgyzshiber
(Trekking day 1) The trekking towards Gunt valley continues at about 5 / 6 hrs / walking.Trek to Kirgiz Shabar viewing the peaks over 5000m accommodation in Tent (BLD).
Day 8 Kyrgyzshiber - Chabdar
(Trekking day 2) Today we continue trekking for 5 / 6 hrs / walking. Chapdar valley is stunning and here we could enjoy the time by the river Gunt and valley Chabdar with greenish bushes around. Trek to Uch-kul via Chapdara lake, Tent (BLD).
Day 9 Chabdar - Zarojkul lake
(Trekking day 3) We continue north to Bartang valley which is still far. We trek about 5 /6 hrs / walking. The area is stunning. Trek to the bottom of Shtiklazar pass visiting Zarojkul lake (4518m) Tent(BLD).
Day 10 Zarojkul lake - Baradara valley
(Trekking day 4) These areas somewhat similar to ranges in Nelap. Today we continue - 6 / 7 hrs / walking towards the Bartang valley over Shtiklazar pass Tent(BLD).
Day 11 Valley to Baradara village
(Trekking day 5) Today we finally arrive in Bardara. It would the long a taught treks of dive days. Today we walk, 7/ hrs / to Bardara village, Homestay (BLD).
Day 12 Baradar - Pasor
Having a rest in Bardar we drive to really nice village, 85 km - 3/4 hrs / drive to Pasor (2977m). today we will have a rest and prepare for another trek. On the way visiting Roshorv village (3055m) with views, Guesthouse(BLD).
Day 13 Pasor - Khafrazdara
(Trekking day 1) Slowly we start trekking towards the Khafrazdara, 7 hours of walking, Tent(BLD).
Day 14 Khafrazdara - 3rd lake - 5 hrs / walking
(Trekking day 2) Today we trek to the 3-rd lake, Tent(BLD).
Day 15 3rd lake - viewpoint
(Trekking day 3) Trek to viewpoint about 5 hours of walking Tent(BLD).
Day 16 View point Khafrazdara
(Trekking day 4) Trek back to Khafrazdara about 7/8 hrs, accommodation in Tent(BLD).
Day 17 Khafrazdara - Pasor
(Trekking day 5) Trek to Pasor village (2977m) about 7/8 hours, accommodation in Guesthouse(BLD).
Day 18 Pasor - Khara kul
Today we drive up north to Kara Kul lake, where the village is located. The village is predominantly Kirghiz settlement. It would be a full day driver. We will leave the Bartang valley. Total distance is 171 km of 8 hours of driver. The lake is located at 3900 elevations. We overnight in Guesthouse(BLD).
Day 19 Khara kul - Osh - 300 km - 6 hrs / drvive
After a long journey in stunning valleys of Gunt and Bartang via Wakhan valley we leave to Osh, the old Silk Road City and modern city of Kyrgyzstan. It is located in Fergana valley, fertile valley of Central Asia. We will enjoy the time in Osh visiting bars and shops and local market. We overnight in Osh, Hotel(BLD).
Day 20 Good bye Pamirs, Tajikistan
We hope you had a wonderful time in the Pamirs. Today you will fly back to your country. We are always glad to have you back in the Pamirs again. Have a good flight back to motherland.

Temperatures: please note that there can be large variations in temperatures. In daytime it can be very hot and a thin layer of clothing will be comfortable but long sleeves protect you from the sun rays. At night it can be cold so a layered approach is best. Predicting temperatures is very hard but they could range between 5°C and + 25°C. Rainfall in the Pamirs at this time of year is not expected but dust storms are. Please take a waterproof layer just in case.
