Type of tour:Since the end of Soviet Union, the Independence Day has become mega event of Tajikistan. Like the fourth of July, 9th of September has been symbolically celebrated. This tour designed such that it allows our customers to enjoy the most important event in Tajikistan after having seen the nature, people and culture. The tour starts from Kyrgyzstan, Osh city of Fergana valley and continues down to Tajikistan, the Pamirs and end in Dushanbe, the capital Tajikistan. It does not meet the customers would spend most of the time in a jeep but it includes various half a day walks and sightseeing.

Day 1Osh – via Sarymogol - Tulparkul lake-
We will welcome you in the of Osh, southern Kyrgyzstan and Fergana valley of Central Asia. Today we will have a city tour around silk road city of Osh. We will visit SulaimanMountain, Bazar (market), and a museum. After lunch in Osh we drive to Alai valley over the Taldyk Pass (3615m) for an unforgettable adventure. Stop on the way for lunch or picnic among magnificent north Alai range. From here, the natural scenery of Pamir Alay range is spectacular. Very close to see Lenin Pik (7134m) from Tulparkul Lake. Lunch in yurt and overnight in Alai valley, Mogul (3000 m),Guesthouse is optional, Yurt Stay (BLD).
Day 2Tulparkul lake - Murghab-
After breakfast, we will have a short hiking for about 30 minutes around the area of TulparKullake at the foothills of Trance Alai Range. There good view of the Peak Lenin and stunning Transe -Alai range. Drive fromTulparkul lake to Murghab, over the Kyrgyz border BorDobo. After 55km, no man’s land between Kyrgyzstan – Tajikistan. We cross at the Kyzyl Pass (4282m) at the Tajik border checkpoint. The landscape completely changes as we go higher into the Pamirs. The terrain here is becoming barren and rocky. Nomadic Kyrgyz herders inhabit this region. In Kara kul we have a lunch in homestay named after the lake. After lunch we drive smoothly over the Akbaitalpass (4655), which is the highest point of the journey. From here, it is a long descent to Murgab. On the way, stop first Russian imperial fort (first military base in the Pamirs). Overnight in Murgab, Home stay(BLD).
Day 3Murghab - Bulunkul-
Today we visit “The Yak House”, a small handicraft-production group. The Yak House produces high quality handmade products through local artisans and was officially registered as a public organization. We will have a short city tour around Murgab. We will visit Lenin’s statue and white house of Murgab, where we will learn about the history of this region. From Murghab we continue our trip along the Pamir High way to BulunKul Lake. The terrain here is desolate but grandiose. On the way visit Shakhty rock paintings (4200). Three very similar figures are placed underneath the last animal. This representation has been compared to the so called clavicorn figures of Paleolithic art. It dates (8000-5000 B.C.) Further, we will visit Bashgumbez caravan saray, Akbalik holy lake, Lunch at Alichor drive via geyser to Bulunkul lake and Yashilkul lake, visit small hot spring. Overnight in BulunKul village, but Yurt stay is optional, Home stay (BLD).
Day 4Bulunkul – Langar-
Early morning drive to Wakhan Corridor from Bulunkul to Langar over the pass Kargush (4344). We will see Chakahankul lake and other small darkish lake. We will pass by the border check point control. Further along the Pamir river (Begining of Amu Daria) we will start seeing Afghanistan. We will have a picnic along the Pamir River. Further, we will visit Ratm Fort III BC. We drive down to Langar entrance of Wakhan Valley. Hike to 200m up hill above Langar village and see Petroglyphs. Overnight in Langar Village, Homestay (BLD).
Day 5Langar - Ishkashim - Khorog-
Drive towards the Wakhan corridor to Ishkoshim. On we way, we will stop at Sufi Muborakqadam Museum and solar calendar in Yamg. Further a bit there is a 4th Century Buddhist stupas at Vrang, reminders of the ancient pilgrim caravans that passed through the region. Visit village of Namadguti to see the Khahkha Fortress. This impressive structure rises from a naturally formed platform of rock and dates back to the Kushan era of the 3rd Century. There are a number of these ancient fortresses in the area, and we will also visit Yamchun fort, perhaps the most impressive of them. We take a break having a nice lunch at the Bibi Fatima hot springs. After Ishkashim we drive to Khorog, the capital of Gorno-Badakshan Autonomous Oblast. Khorog is a small town that at various times has been under the control of the Russia, the Emirate of Bukhara and Afghanistan. The Russians built a fort here in the Soviet era. With Khorog used to be a highly strategic location on the border with Afghanistan. However, today it languishes and it holds the distinction of being home the second highest botanical garden in the world. We overnight in Ishkashim, Hotel(BLD).
Day 6Khorog to Geizev
From Khorog we leave for Emts through Bartang valley with some 180 km. There is a promise of some spectacular scenery along the way. The contrast across the Bartang river valley is expressive. Tajikistan is undoubtedly a poor country, but in general, the roads are sealed, and it is as if the river represents not just a physical divide, but also a step back in time. Arrival in Geisev village in Bartang valley. This day the trek begins on the river Bartang just beyond Bhagoo village, across one of the bridges. The hike is mostly gently uphill, for about 8km to the upper of three lakes. The first houses in Geisevare reached after about 5km picnic. The abundant vegetation, the gnarled trees, the lakes and the ever-changing river - sometimes frothing with energy, sometimes limpid and blue - create a very special peaceful atmosphere, exploration of environment will be done this day. This rout passing lakes, and the rivers traversing some of the most magnificent scenery in the Pamirs. Overnight in Geizev, Bartang Valley,Traditional Pamir House (BLD).
Day 7Gizeive – Kalaikum
Morning we walk down to main road at the bridge. From bridge we drive to Kalaikum along the Panj river. All the way we will drive to Kalaikum. On the way you will see many different villages. Views of the valley are amazing. Lunch in a Chaikana. Overnight in homestayKalaikum, Guesthouse (BLD).
Day 8Khalikum – Kulob – Dushanbe
Transfer to Dushanbe via Kulob from Kalaikum. On the way, there are excellent views. The breathtaking landscape along the Panj river (known as Oxus river). We will be passing along the Afghan border. Then, we will cross the pass Shurabad. We will stop for photos shootings along the way. We will have a lunch in Kulob. After that, we continue to the town mausoleum of Sheikh Said- Hamadoni dating from the first Islam period. Further, in Kulob we will stop at Hulbuk fortress dating 3000 BC. Arrive in Dushanbe late evening and overnight in the city of Dushanbe, hotel isoptional, Hotel(BLD).
Day 9Dushanbe – sightseeing and relaxing
Celebrate Independence Day in Dushanbe. Dushanbe is a relatively modern town that rose to prominence during the Soviet era, (named Stalinabad). Its name means “Monday"" in Tajik language: this was the day that market was held when Dushanbe was still a small and fairly insignificant village. The ousted Emir of Bukhara, fleeing from the Bolsheviks, stayed in Dushanbe and cooperated with Enver Pasha’s Basmachis until he had to leave the region to flee to Afghanistan in 1921, the year the town was freed from the Basmachis as well. Lunch in restaurant, After Lunch relaxing evening opera Balet shows.We overnight in the same place in Dushanbe, hotel is optional, Hotel (BLD).
Day 10 Dushanbe –Sight seeing
The first day starts with city tour around Dushanbe. We start with a walk in center, main avenues to get a sense of post-soviet, semi modern, traditional Tajik society and infrastructure. Then we visit National Museum, which is four stare and tall building. The museum has historical, cultural, environmental, archeological, and mineralogical artifact. We will see the prototype of sleeping Bodha. Then, we proceed, a walk along the Rudakiavenue where we will see president’s palace, world tallest flag, Ismail Somoni’s statue, 10th century Tajik leader. We will get a sense of nation building process after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Near the stature, there is a large national library decorated with famous Persian poets, classic writers, doctors, and scholars. This city less crowded, well-developed public transportation, and local Rohatchoikhona’s, teahouses, prepares very nice traditional food, especial in lunch times. Visit musical instrument museum of Pamir songs. At evening times, the center is quite and you would often hear music from the Moscowsky restaurant, where you can have dinner. Day 11 Good byePamirs, Tajikistan
We hope you had a wonderful time in the Pamirs. Today you will fly back to your country. We are always glad to have you back in the Pamirs again. Have a good flight back to motherland.

Temperatures: please note that there can be large variations in temperatures. In daytime it can be very hot and a thin layer of clothing will be comfortable but long sleeves protect you from the sun rays. At night it can be cold so a layered approach is best. Predicting temperatures is very hard but they could range between 5°C and + 25°C. Rainfall in the Pamirs at this time of year is not expected but dust storms are. Please take a waterproof layer just in case.
